- A Few Good Maps. Tuck away a folded map like the Michelin Spain & Portugal map or the National Geographic Spain & Portugal map.
- Guidebook. The Rough Guide to Spain guidebook also comes with a free e-book version. Another option is the Rick Steves Guidebook for Spain. With guidebooks, I like to tear sections out and bring only what I need (this was a tip from Rick).
- Spanish Phrase Book. Rick Steves Spanish Phrase Book is always a great option. Truly pocket size at 4 x 0.65 x 5.45 inches, it is packed with all the essentials. Alternatively, check out Eyewitness Travel’s Spanish Phrase book.
