Hike Day 2: COLLE MALAMERENDA – PONTE D’ARBIA

On this day, we walk across open meadows and along the Strade Bianche (white roads). We see views of Tuscan countryside. Ponte d’Arbia is our hiking destination for the day.

We had a wonderful thunderstorm last night and solid rain in the middle of the night — the kind that make for a great sleep. It also made for great mud, sticky and makes you feel like you are walking in heels. This was brief but we met with the slippery mud scattered along the way.

Lunch was in Quinciaro — a picnic lunch with fresh melon, apples, cheese and a salad with grains, chickpeas, fresh herbs.

Where we stayed

Tonight we stay back in San Giorgio again.

Where we walked

Again, I pre-made a map of where I think we were going to hike (see it on AllTrails). Here is the actual

This is what laundry day looks like. We are having an afternoon thunderstorm so we have our clothes & swimsuits  hanging inside.

We managed a swim before the storm rolled in. And now we are sitting inside watching the weather show.
