Day 5: Castle Tour

Castello Di Proceno

To start the day, we had a tour of the castle in the medieval village of Proceno. Castello Di Proceno was a central location on the Via Cassia, the main communication road for commercial, cultural, and religious traffic for over 2000 years. The owner, Cecilia, personally gave us the tour. We started in the residence where she and her husband live then climbed the tower which had rooms in it too. Apparently at one time, Orson Wells wanted to buy this property.

At this point, we have exited the residence and start climb the tower, it has many floors. Eventually, we walk across a draw bridge so we could walk along the castle walls. Then we returned inside the tower and kept climbing.
